During my time on exchange, I was lucky enough to meet and connect with a bunch of students from countries and cultures across the globe. I often heard common idioms in different languages being passed around amongst my roomates and friends, and out of context, a lot of these expressions seemed bizarre and humorous. I began to reflect on the idioms I have grown familiar with in my own native tongues, and realized that a lot of them would warrant a similar reaction from non-native speakers. 'Don't Judge a Book (by it's Cover)' is a 72 page flipbook that visually explores what I had learned from my fellow peers, while working with one of my favourite artistic techniques: collage.
