I began this project by asking “What are the effects of the romanticization of mental illness?”. In my research I found that this romanticization is extremely prevalent on social media and poses real risk to those who engage with it.

From my research I decided that the best design solution would be to create a website. This website includes articles I have written about the romanticization of mental illness, and resources catered towards those who struggle with it. As well, there is an interactive page to help foster a sense of community.

This poster is meant to catch the attention of the viewer using a satirization of how mental illness is often romanticized. It prompts the viewer to consider just how strange romanticization really is. The goal of this poster would be to create conversation on the topic as well as to direct people to the website.
